Nischaya yan or JSSK (RT) is a Voucher based referral transport system for transportation of pregnant women and sick infants from house to hospital and back. Nischay yan vouchers are issued by the ANMs of Sub-centres in rural areas on confirmation of the pregnancy. Any vehicle, not necessarily an ambulance, can be empanelled as a Nischaya yan for a village or GP area. This system is very effective in facilitating mobilisation of pregnant women and sick infants to hospitals, more so at odd hours of the night.
