Under the Banga Matri Prakalpa (BMP)/Pradhan Manti Matru Vandana Yojna (PMMVY) a mother is entitled to a one time incentive of Rs. 5000 in addition to the incentive under JSY for her first childbirth in stages. This is done to provide her the much need wage loss compensation for rest and nutritional support during pregnancy. First instalment: Rs. 1000 on early registration; 2nd instalment: on receipt of at least one ANC within 1 month of pregnancy; 3rd instalment: on registration of child birth and receipt the 1st cycle of BCG, OPV, DPT and Hepatitis-B or its equivalent.
